Obituary: Manyus pay tribute as Besongabang community announces Lady Agborbock’s death 0
The Besongabang Community in Mamfe and in the Federal Republic of Germany has issued a statement announcing the death of Mama Eyong Johana Arrey Agborbock. “Our hearts are heavy, laden with pains and grief, at the announcement of the passing on to glory of Lady Eyong Johana Arrey Agborbock , the wife of late Pa Emmanuel Enow Agborbock aged 94.”
“Our highly revered Lady Agborbock, was a distinguished Manyu royal, a quintessential unifier, unique personage and exemplary member pf the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, whose life brought distinction, immense class, finesse and integrity to religious and traditional institutions in the Besongabang Kingdom and the Manyu state at large.”
“To us the Besongabang elements in Mamfe town and in Germany, she was our strongest supporter; both in her uncommon faith in our ability and her readiness to offer uncommon advice to sharpen public discourse in our shared commitment to transform the Besongabang Kingdom. It gladdens our heart, therefore, that our Lady Agborbock was alive to witness the positive transformation of both the Besongabang family meeting in Mamfe and the PCC.”
The statement concluded that “We are enveloped with a deep sense of nostalgia that our Lady Eyong Johana Arrey Agborbock, a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunty and iconoclastic royal mother of exemplary carriage and conduct, who sustained the dignity of the average Besongabang mind, has joined her ancestors.” Burial arrangements will be announced soonest.
