SDF pro federalism march: Troops block major roads in Bepanda-Douala 2
Troops loyal to the Biya Francophone regime have been deployed to Bepanda today Saturday 4 March 2017. The soldiers have blocked the main roads leading to the populous Douala 5th district. The authorities deployed men in combat clothing, police and military, precisely gendarmes, and anti-riot vehicles at the main roundabout where the SDF had planned to hold this Saturday, March 4, 2017, a meeting, followed by a peaceful march to raise awareness on federalism and national unity.
Despite the decision taken by the organizers to postpone the SDF demonstration at a later date, the Douala CPDM authorities have cut off all access routes to the area. Elsewhere, law enforcement officials have also surrounded the home and parliamentary office of the SDF Littoral regional Chairman Hon. Jean Michel NITCHEU.
SDF militants who planned to take part in the demonstration say they are surprised by this massive mobilization of men in uniform whereas the SDF announced by a communiqué since yesterday that its meeting is postponed.
