War in Southern Cameroons: Defense Minister Beti Assomo en route to Mamfe 0
Since today Sunday, December 31, 2017, there has been an exceptional deployment of defense and security forces in some areas of the Southwest Region that is worrying to many Southern Cameroonians. Apart from the security measures taken by the regime in Yaoundé to protect the country during this festive period, the major military buildup in Fako, Meme and Manyu Divisions ordered by the Delegate General for National Security, the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization has not been welcomed by the Interim Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
Cameroon Concord News has been reliably informed that Joseph Beti Assomo, the defense minister has decided to spend the New Year Day with the Francophone dominated defense forces in Manyu. In preparation for the Minister’s coming, Cameroon government troops have invaded nearly all the streets of Mamfe, the chief town in Manyu Division.
For three days running, helicopters have been making turns over the town. But today Sunday it was serious as taxis and motorcycles were not allowed to circulate. The movement of people has been reduced and neighborhood entrances are militarized. Soldiers have been deployed from Tiko via Kumba to Mamfe to protect the visiting minister.
