Federal Republic of Ambazonia: APLA demands release of Sisiku Ayuk Tabe 0

The Ambazonia People’s Liberation Authority today launches a coordinated political initiative demanding the immediate and unconditional release of President Sisiku Julius AyukTabe and his nine fellow detainees, collectively known as the NERA 10. Our objective is clear: November 19 must bring an end to their prolonged political imprisonment, not another postponement.

In our October 16 statement, APLA condemned the repeated adjournments and the institutional failures prolonging these proceedings. We now move from condemnation to organized political action. Cameroon must answer for the continued imprisonment of our leaders and for a judicial process that repeatedly offers another date while taking more of their lives.

The State’s inability to constitute its own court cannot become the prisoners’ punishment.

The Supreme Court’s annulment of the previous appellate judgment and referral for a fresh hearing cannot become an excuse for indefinite delay. APLA demands a lawful conclusion to the proceedings and immediate freedom for all ten detainees. We also renew the demand for implementation of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention’s Opinion No. 59/2022, which called for their immediate and unconditional release.

This initiative will unite political engagement, public information, independent legal scrutiny, and coordinated solidarity. During the coming week, APLA will present its position, facilitate an expert examination of the legal case, invite independent attendance at the hearing, and engage organizations and community representatives on common action. Consultation with SCAUF will seek a united action plan toward November 19.

APLA calls on independent lawyers, bar associations, and legal and human rights organizations to attend the hearing and maintain an independent presence inside or outside the courtroom. We call on diplomatic missions and relevant international institutions to seek concrete answers concerning continued detention and any further delay.

Beginning November 8, NERA 10: FACES OF FREEDOM will introduce a series of individual profiles, followed on November 19 by a collective feature reaffirming our demand for their immediate release.

We call on Ambazonian organizations and all who stand for freedom and justice to support this common purpose. Further campaign measures will be communicated separately. Our action will remain disciplined, peaceful, and grounded in the protection of our people.

To Cameroon, our message is unequivocal: end their political imprisonment. Enough adjournments. Free the NERA 10.
