Southern Cameroons Human Rights Alert!! 0
Besong Esther Agbor who recently moonlighted as Special Representative of the English speaking Cameroonian community in Thailand and a leading voice for Internally Displaced Persons from her native Manyu Division ever since the war in Southern Cameroons started in 2016 is now wanted by the Francophone dominated regime in Yaoundé.
The teacher and writer who vociferously condemned the Biya regime over its genocidal campaign in Southern Cameroons was subjected to a mock execution in 2019 by Francophone army soldiers loyal to the Biya regime in Yaoundé.
With the support of the Roman Catholic Church, Besong Esther Agbor travelled out of Cameroon to Thailand leaving behind many of her friends and colleagues who were tortured, beaten repeatedly and left without food.
During her struggle as a champion for the oppressed children of Southern Cameroons, she was exposed to very vicious and malicious treatment by state security agents.
Human Rights Defense Group understands that some elements of the gendarmerie stole her shoes and her wedding ring.
More than four years of horror that confirms the intensity of the war crimes being committed by the Cameroon government against Anglophone Cameroon activists, Besong Esther Agbor’s name is now prominent among Southern Cameroonians wanted by the regime for terrorism.
Southern Cameroonians who are in the Diaspora are considered threats, suspects and are being targeted by the ruling government for lame and ridiculous reason that they are the ones financing the on-going crises in Southern Cameroon.
Human Rights Defense Group calls on the European Union to grant Besong Esther Agbor protection as stipulated in international human rights conventions.
