A senior Southern Cameroons scholar has said that the United Republic of Cameroon project has failed.

“Day-by-day it is becoming evident that British Southern Cameroons is irreversibly transitioning into Africa’s newest state. The French backed Francophone domination equation does not work in Southern Cameroons anymore, and the old ENAM order that used to serve the interests of French Cameroun political elites has been brushed to one side,” Professor Carlson Anyangwe told Cameroon Concord News on Sunday.

The renowned academic noted that the project to Francophonenize British Southern Cameroons has failed and thanks to the brave Southern Cameroons self defense forces, the criminal activities of the French Cameroun regime in Yaoundé have been unmasked.

Elsewhere in his Cameroon Concord News remarks, Professor Carlson Anyangwe noted that Southern Cameroonians have opened up a new chapter of resisting the French backed French Cameroun regime in La Republique du Cameroun.

Seven years into a deadly separatist conflict in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions, hopes of finding a negotiated settlement seem more distant than ever as both the government and Ambazonia restoration fighters dig in, according to civil society activists.

It’s a conflict marked by spikes of extreme violence that invariably target civilians.

Rights groups accuse both the security forces and secessionist fighters of serious abuses that include extrajudicial killings, rape, kidnapping, and torture.

The root of the conflict is the central government’s historical marginalisation of the two English-speaking regions, the Northwest and Southwest, home to about 20 percent of the population.

Cameroon Concord News Group chief correspondent Nelly Epupa has said that the Biya Francophone regime in French Cameroun has detained more than 4000 Southern Cameroonians since the outbreak of the conflict in 2006.

Nelly Epupa who headed undercover operations for the Cameroon Intelligence Report said during our October editorial meeting on Thursday that the Francophone dominated government has persisted in detaining English speaking Cameroonians from all segments of the society including Roman Catholic clerics.

Ms Epupa further noted that several children, girls and women had been among those detained by French speaking Cameroon army soldiers deployed to Southern Cameroons. 37 women had to give birth in detention under very difficult conditions.

Nelly Epupa added that several Anglophone academics, journalists and staff from civil society organizations had been arrested.

She wondered aloud why the renowned Barrister Akere Muna recently failed to focus his attention on the remarkable increase in high profile detentions but instead commented on a minor issue in Guzang.

According to the Vice President of the Ambazonia Interim Government, about 90% of Southern Cameroonians detained in French Cameroun suffer from chronic diseases.

Yaoundé says at least 11 hostages held by Ambazonia fighters in the North West have been rescued by the Francophone dominated security forces in Bui Division.

Menyong Gilbert Sunday, prefect of the Bui, said troops conducted an operation overnight into Wednesday, leading the rescue of 10 men and one woman who were held hostage in “an Ambazonia camp” in Kikaikom locality of the division.

The Francophone civil administrator who some reports have suggested is vying to be a Governor in a statement congratulated the security forces on their “bravery and professionalism” and urged the population to continue to collaborate with officials and troops in a bid to consolidate peace and stability in the division where separatist fighters regularly operate.

At least 6,000 people have died in fighting, according to the International Crisis Group. The U.N. estimates that over 700,000 people have been displaced. Both sides have been accused of abuses by human rights groups.

Ambazonia restorations have enforced a boycott on schools, depriving 600,000 children of their education.

In 2019, the U.S. suspended Cameroon from its flagship trade initiative with Africa, AGOA, which gave it tariff-free access to the U.S. market, citing alleged human rights violations by Cameroonian security forces.

Two of the largest state-owned companies which produce crude, palm oil, banana and rubber have almost ground to a halt. Cocoa and coffee production has also been hit.

Hundreds of Southern Cameroonians marched in the rural areas to mark the anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia by President Sisiku Ayuk Tabe.

Carrying pro-independence flags and banners, the Southern Cameroonians chanted anti-French Cameroun slogans in Bui, Manyu, Ndian, Menchum, Fako and Mezam County.

Among the Ambazonia celebrants was the jailed leader President Sisiku Ayuk Tabe who tweeted that: “Today, on the 62nd anniversary of our stolen independence, we remember the resilience of our people. With your support, we restored our nation on October 1st, 2017. Let us continue to pursue peace through dialogue, despite the intransigence of the LRC government. “

 “On this Independence Day, we honor the strength and determination of our people. We will not be silenced or denied our rights. As we rebuild our homeland, let us support the liberation movement and care for those in need. Together, we will hail the land of glory.”

A Francophone commander of Cameroon’s National Gendarmerie has been killed in the Northern Zone, a source in the governor’s office told Cameroon Concord News.

Commander Betene Manga was in charge of anti Ambazonia operations at the gendarmerie post in Awing.

He was killed when Southern Cameroons restoration forces raided the Awing gendarmerie post on Thursday.

Ambazonia Revolutionary Guards said on social media that they kidnapped another Francophone security official and seized ammunition during the attack on Awing.

Amba fighters have been fighting to create an independent nation in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions of Northwest and Southwest since 2017.

Separatists militants suspected to be Black Marine have beheaded three members of the Cameroon Gendarmes in Isangele subdivision an area in Bakassi Peninsula inhabited by ethnic groups of Southeastern Nigeria origin.

The militants numbering four were sailing on big canoe boat with fishing net at 5am on Tuesday morning, when they jumped out from the water shooting one Gendarmerie and beheaded two at a spot, taking their guns and their heads.

Report says that the militants keep the head of any beheaded soldier in their camps.

Meanwhile, the Rapid d’intervention Battalions (BIR) have began manhunt for the leader of the Black Marine following a deadly suicide bomb attack that killed seven BIR members.

Henry Edet, Operational coordinator of Biafra Nations League, BnL, said his group was excited to hear that the bomb attack killed Biafra enemies.

The Ambazonia Interim Government says attacks on checkpoints of French Cameroun security agents in Southern Cameroons will intensify in the coming weeks.

Vice President Dabney Yerima made the remarks during an interview he granted to a group of Nigerian newspapers recently.

Yerima said Ambazonia attacks are a natural response to the criminal acts of the French Cameroun occupiers.

The exiled Southern Cameroons leader said attacks against French Cameroun army soldiers should be viewed as part of a mobilization campaign in Ground Zero to defend the Ambazonia homeland.

Extremist Francophone soldiers have been raiding Southern Cameroons villages in Bui, Ndop and Akwaya in recent months as part of what many believe to be a plot to maintain a massive Francophone military presence throughout Southern Cameroons.

The Cameroonian army said Thursday that its troops had killed three militants from the Boko Haram terrorist group in the country’s Far North region.

Militants from the terror group raided Galdala, a village in the Mayo-Tsanaga division of the region on Wednesday night and were subsequently ambushed by the army while returning with the looted goods to their base, said an army official in the region who spoke to Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Local media had reported that villagers were starting to evacuate the area due to deadly attacks in recent weeks.

Boko Haram, a terrorist group originating in Nigeria, has been operating in the Far North region since 2014, posing a significant security threat to Cameroon.

A prominent Southern Cameroons academic Professor Carlson Anyangwe says the Biya French Cameroun policy of implementing bullying tactics against the suffering peoples of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia in the form of military deployments, assassinations and burning down of towns and villages has failed to produce any results.

In a telephone conversation with Cameroon Concord News London Bureau Chief Isong Asu, Professor Carlson Anyangwe stated that using the bullying language in the form of raids, detentions, rape, torture and killing of innocent Southern Cameroonians is no longer a useful instrument.

Elaborating on his remarks, Carlson Anyangwe said La Republique should start talking to the jailed Anglophone leaders in the Kondengui Maximum Security Prison.

Professor Anyangwe pointed out that after AAC I and AAC II, the French Cameroun motto was that “What is mine is mine and what in Anglophone is negotiable. That won’t work anymore in Southern Cameroons” Anyangwe said.

“Southern Cameroonians will continue to judge the leadership in French Cameroun based on its practical steps and not its rhetoric on the so-called one and indivisible Cameroon” Professor Anyangwe added.

“The Ambazonia Interim Government is not interested in what the French Cameroun head of state Paul Biya wants to do with the situation in Southern Cameroons, the IG is interested in what Biya must do” Anyangwe furthered.

“As we speak, Yaounde’s behavior has failed to win even the trust of Southern Cameroonians like Dion Ngute, Philemon Yang and Mafany Musonge,” Anyangwe concluded.

A recent meeting between representatives of the Ambazonia Interim Government(IG) and commanders of Southern Cameroons Self Defense Groups in Ground Zero reportedly sent shivers down the French Cameroun regime’s spine, Cameroon Intelligence Report has learned from a well-placed source in the nation’s capital.

Speaking about the secret meeting, an aide to Vice President Dabney Yerima told a South African radio host that the reassuring smiles of the Ground Zero commanders during the meeting was a positive indication that Amba fighters were more than ready to respond decisively to the numerous deployment of Francophone army soldiers to Southern Cameroons.

The meeting that was organized under the direct supervision of the IG’s Department for Strategic Planning revealed the depth of coordination between the Dabney Yerima-led Interim Government and Ground Zero commanders as well as other restoration groups.

Early on Monday, Vice President Dabney Yerima was quoted as saying that all Southern Cameroons Self Defense Groups are firmly determined to give a united response to the Biya-Francophone aggressive policies.

The countdown to the collapse of La Republique du Cameroun dominance over Southern Cameroons has begun, and the wish of the great Leader of the Ambazonia nation President Sisiku Ayuk Tabe is coming true.
