7 humanitarian workers attached to the Baptist Health services in Mamfe were in court today standing trial on trump up charges related to the Ambazonia crisis. The case Suit No MCFI/050c/2020 between The People Vs Ernest Mbah (Lab Technician), Njobi Shey Divine (Lab Technician), Nfor Dieudonné (Nurse/Screener), Ngong Cornelius (Nurse), Tohntuh Henry Tifah (Bills Clerk),Tatah Divine Mbongong (Security Guard), Chiy Silas Taah (Security Guard) was adjourned for the 5th August 2020 because of the absence of the prosecutor counsel. In a related story, two minors who are girls, Essa Florence Tabi and Tiku Irene Fongu in Suit No MCFI/PI/023c/2018 were variously charged for hostilities against the nation, secession, acts of terrorism and spying on the military.

The two girls were also represented pro bono before the law courts by Barrister Agbor Robert Tanyi, Abunaw Robert and a host of other Counsel in Mamfe, Kumba and Bamenda following directives at President Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe.

French Cameroun army chief General Rene Meka has reportedly told a national security forum in Yaoundé chaired by President Biya that the Southern Cameroons Self Defense Forces were developing a fully offensive mode that will eventually enhance their tactical and operational performance.

General Meka who travelled to Buea and Bamenda recently has been quoted as saying that the regime in Yaounde should seek a different approach towards ending the war in Southern Cameroons. We gathered from a well placed source that General Meka suggested an increase in French Cameroun military operations in Ambazonia rural areas.

With age telling on him, the French Cameroun army chief remains committed to a military solution to the crisis and he revealed on state radio and television that he plans to stage an all-out and multi-layer strikes against Ambazonia Self Defense positions in Bui, Menchum, Manyu and Lebialem including Kupe Munenguba.

Nearly 7000 children, including a large group of women and the elderly, have been killed in Southern Cameroons in nine months, the Ambazonia Interim Government says.

In a statement released by the office of the Vice President Dabney Yerima on Tuesday, the Ambazonia Interim Government said it had documented a sea of civilian deaths in Southern Cameroons from January to July, 2020 with thousands of innocent civilians wounded in the same period.

The Southern Cameroons Interim Government figures include thousands of children killed and hundreds injured.

The Office of the Ambazonia Vice President identified pro French Cameroun armed groups such as the Atanga Nji Boys and the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) as the main culprits, involved in 98 percent of the deaths in Southern Cameroons.

The figures from Vice President Yerima’s office also reported a decline on the numbers of deaths within the ranks of the invading French Cameroun army due to the policies of tactical withdrawal by Ambazonia Restoration Forces.

Human Rights Watch noted in its recent report that the situation in Southern Cameroons continues to deteriorate and that the conflict is one of the deadliest in Africa.

The United Nations call for an international cease fire due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has not been respected by the Biya Francophone regime in Yaoundé.

At least six civilians have been killed since May by separatist groups in English-speaking regions of Cameroon, while the army is responsible for “grave abuses”, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Monday.

The Northwest and Southwest regions have been gripped by conflict since separatists declared independence in 2017 after decades of grievances at perceived discrimination by the francophone majority.

“Cameroonian armed forces have attacked a health facility in the Northwest region and arbitrarily arrested seven health workers in the Southwest, while armed separatists have killed at least six civilians, including a humanitarian worker and a teacher, since May 2020,” HRW said in a statement.

The teacher at the University of Bamenda was shot dead in mid-May by separatists because he refused to stop teaching, in line with their demands to boycott education, according to HRW which cited his family and witnesses.

A grenade fired into a hospital courtyard in Bali in June, following clashes between separatists and the army, killed one person and wounded four others, the NGO said.

At the beginning of July, armed men killed a Cameroonian aid worker with the global medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

“Security forces and armed separatists have both attacked hospitals and medical staff on multiple occasions,” HRW added.

The violence took place despite claims by separatist leaders earlier this month that they had engaged in peace talks with the government.

Julius Sisiku Ayuk Tabe, the self-proclaimed president of “Ambazonia” — the name given to the breakaway state — said that he and eight other leaders in detention were in negotiations with government representatives for a ceasefire.

A UN source confirmed the meeting to AFP, but the government later denied that any talks had taken place.

Such discussions “should include ensuring respect for human rights and accountability for abuses”, said Lewis Mudge, Central Africa director at HRW.

Mudge called on the parties to “publicly commit to immediately end abuses against civilians”.

Since January, at least 285 civilians have been killed in about 190 incidents in the two English-speaking regions, according to an HRW estimate.

The regions account for about a fifth of a population that is overwhelmingly French-speaking.

The recent revelation of the hiring of internet mercenaries from amongst our own people by the decaying French vassal terrorist state of Cameroun does not come as a surprise.

People who are morally weak and devoid of integrity are always susceptible to being bought over as traitors and mercenaries.

There are two sources of the information that has been put out in the public domain. First, the information has been intentionally leaked by French Cameroun itself. Secondly the information has been leaked by Cameroun’s equally hired outfit, the dubious Swiss NGO that calls itself Humanitarian Dialogue (HD). Disclosing the mercenaries they have hired is part of what they call “blacklegs confusion”.

They start by discrediting persons who are morally vulnerable. They advertise these individuals as truly jobless, hungry, spineless, intellectually weak and untrustworthy. That makes the individuals in question villains.

French Cameroun clearly understands that every mercenary or blacklegger is a morally debased and weak person and hence an actual or potential betrayer who cannot be trusted because once a traitor always a traitor to any side.

After having obtained intelligence from these individuals, the Camerounese ‘strategy’ consists in demonstrating how traitorous, corrupt and morally bankrupt these individuals are! In that way the individuals concerned are made useless and hopeless as source of any useful intelligence by any other side thinking of using them. Whatever they say, including attempts to cast doubts on payments made to them, can then be plausibly denied as coming from persons of extremely doubtful character who cannot be believed.

Having through its disclosures knocked out these peripheral ‘actors’ and other blackleggers,  French Cameroun hopes to be able to contrive a different ‘strategy’ to deal  with the hard core of the Struggle.

After popping in and out of Bamenda and Buea, the Camerounese general Meka  candidly told a closed door meeting in Yaoundé that the brutality of the violence alone will not win the war for French Cameroun and that the regime needed to devise another strategy to go in tandem with the hostilities or unleashed more than three years ago.

The buying over of named individuals is part of the ‘strategy’ and so too is stealing contributions sent through the internet, creation of fictitious US phone numbers, interference with facebook accountants, and distortion and mutilation of messages put out by the Resistance.

A huge landslide is disrupting transportation and business between Bamenda and Mamfe.

The road, which snakes its way through hills and valleys, was already a major concern to both transporters and passengers who were permanently in fear.

The road, which should have been a major highway, carries a huge volume of traffic because of the business that comes from Mamfe which is a major border town.

Normally, the hills were supposed to have been bombed to make the construction of that road a lot easier, but the cash-strapped Yaoundé government opted for a cheaper option that is turning out to be more costly.

Clearing the mud on the road will be a major operation and this could take weeks if not months, as the Yaoundé government will have to resort to its outdated processes to address a major emergency.

“We are in for a long nightmare. This road has just been tarred, but we have been witnessing many issues. There have been many accidents on this road because of its windy nature,” a frustrated businessman interviewed by a Cameroon Concord News Group correspondent on the site of the incident, said.

“This should be a major highway with huge flyovers, given that there are lots of businesses coming from Mamfe. The government should have thought about this decades ago before building this death trap that has killed many young business people,” he added.

“Our trucks are now stuck on the Mamfe side and we have many perishable goods in the other trucks heading to Mamfe. This is a disaster to us. Business has been slow because of the Southern Cameroons crisis, but with this incident, things will only get worse,” he regretted.

“I hope the government will act promptly. This is a government that has not got a track record in this regard. We are simply hoping that something gets done in the hours ahead,” he stressed.

At least four soldiers of Cameroon elite unit, Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) have been killed by flash flooding that swept through a remote part of the Far North Region of the country, local authorities said on Friday.

Officials said their vehicle was “washed away” Thursday night after a sudden torrential rain storm in Moskota of the region.

It is unclear if civilians were also affected by the floods. The bodies of the soldiers have already been recovered by rescuers.

Floods have displaced thousands of people in the region since rains started falling in February, local authorities said.

Weather experts have warned that more deadly floods are expected to hit the region before the end of the rainy season in October.

At least 250 widows from across western Cameroon are staging protests to call for an end to cleansing rituals and other cultural practices they say they have been forced to undergo following their husbands’ deaths. The widows gathered to demonstrate in the western town of Bafoussam.

Forty-seven-year-old Amede Djoulde is a member of the Association of Widows, based in the nearby town of Foumban. She says the demonstrations began when a mother of five children was chased from her marital home after her husband died recently.

She says widows are suffering enormously in their community. Women are always accused of killing their husbands and no one seems to consider the pain they go through after losing their life partners.

Amina Nji says her family home is now illegally occupied by her late husband’s older brother. 

She says she should be the owner of their matrimonial home because she constructed it with her husband. She says her in-laws did not take into consideration that she and her five children need a home. She says she now lives in her oldest daughter’s house but wants to return to her home.

The women say they oppose practices that include the ritual of being forced to drink water used to bathe their late husband’s body as a sign they did not kill their spouse. The women also say the practice of having to stay with their in-laws for about a year after their husbands die is cruel.

Njingum Ngemnye, a public figure in the village of Koutoupit, says the practices are to cleanse the women of evil spirits brought about by the death of their spouses.

He says tradition gives authority to particular notables to cleanse a woman by shaving her head immediately after the burial of her husband. He says the female siblings of the late husband must accompany the widow to her farm, fetch water and watch over her by accompanying her everywhere she goes.

Seidou Tonta, also a notable (public figure) in Koutoupit, says he is surprised that the women want to abandon traditions intended to protect them.

He says their tradition states that a widow, for her safety and fear of being cursed by her late husband, must avoid having sexual relations and wear only black dresses for up to a year after her husband dies. He says he is upset that many people now believe in the doctrine of Christian churches that says God is against such practices. He says their traditions must also be respected by people who preach Christianity.

Ernestine Essah, the highest ranking official in Noun, an administrative unit where Foumban is located, says the government has been educating communities in order to avoid such practices.

She says the most disturbing issue she has observed in western Cameroon is the inhumane way women are treated when they lose their husbands. She says she has organized several talks and conferences to propagate the rights of women. She says she has asked those who still practice harmful widowhood rights to stop it because it is against the dignity of women and the government forbids such rites.

The government of Cameroon says its western region still has some of the worst forms of cultural practices that undermine the rights of women.

The arrest and extradition of the Southern Cameroons leader President Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and his top aides by Nigeria and French Cameroun agents in Abuja was an act of war against the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, senior Southern Cameroons elite in South Africa has said.

In January 2018, the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia Sisiku Ayuk Tabe was arrested with 46 Southern Cameroonians in NERA hotel in the Nigerian capital, Abuja by Nigerian Special Forces. They were then handed over to the Biya Francophone regime in French Cameroun – a move that was ruled illegal by a Nigerian court in March this year.

Southern Cameroonians responded to the arrest by striking French Cameroun administrative and military installations in their homeland.

Speaking to Cameroon Concord News on Thursday, Dr Patrick Ayuk said, “Extraditing President Sisiku Ayuk Tabe by the Buhari administration was an act of war.”

“Buhari has made the giant of Africa appear like a shithole country! Abuja is trying to make up all kinds of mumbo-jumbo justification. But mighty Nigeria has no justification whatsoever” Dr Patrick Ayuk added.

As the end of the Biya government draws to a catastrophic end, members of the crime syndicates inner circle are gradually erasing any incriminating evidence through massive destruction of files and electronic systems.

After having siphoned off millions of taxpayers’ money abroad for personal purposes, the Betis Mafia that has lots of skeletons in its cupboard has resorted to burning down institutions that will clearly reveal the scope and depth of the corruption that has characterised the Biya regime for close to 40 years.

The national treasury, which has become Mr. Biya’s ATM, has been set ablaze on Friday, July 24, 2020 at an ungodly hour to ensure that even firefighters do not intervene to put out the fire.

The inferno has affected mostly the floors that host IT equipment and key files that contain information on the financial corruption that has transformed the country into an Augean Stable.

A source in the country’s Treasury and the Ministry of Finance has just informed the Cameroon Concord News Group that many Cameroonians of Beti extraction have been expressing grave concerns about their future when Mr. Biya, the architect of the massive corruption in the country, would be dead and gone.

The source added that the pressure and tension are palpable and many Cameroonians are concerned about the country’s future, especially as it is becoming obvious that civil servants might soon go without a salary for months.

“A lot of financial malfeasance has taken place in the country, but the mess playing out in the ministry of finance and the national treasury will take decades to be cleaned out,” the source said.

“The country’s wealth and riches are in the hands of a few people who are either members of Mr. Biya’s ethnic group or members of the ruling CPDM which is holding the country’s treasury under its armpit,” the source added.

“Cameroonians have been reduced to beggars in their own country by a bunch of people who have placed their interest above national interest,” he regretted.

“When you see Cameroonians gravitating towards the CPDM, it is not because the party has a good ideology that can result in any development. The CPDM is keeping the National Treasury and all Cameroonians are hungry. If they must eat, then they must praise Mr. Biya and his crime syndicate. These folks have been sharing our money to Cameroonians as if they are distributing candy to children,” he lamented.

“The way the country has been run over the last 40 years really leaves much to be desired. There is no difference between the ruling party and the state. Cameroonians have been dehumanized. From every indication, it is clear that the ruling party’s objective is to pauperize the population in order to bring it under control,” our source added.

“The most painful thing is that this fire will only trigger the creation of multiple commissions for the investigation of what has happened and after those investigations, no heads will roll and it will be business as usual. This is the most outrageous way of ruling a country,” the source lamented.

“I am certain that this fire is the handiwork work of people who have something to hide. Once the dust will settle, most of them will be given promotions and very soon, you will see them on TV praising the president for his great leadership and vision,” the source said.

“This has been their modus operandi for decades and those praises seem to be music to Mr. Biya’s ears. He hardly sanctions anybody and this has created impunity in the country. If he sanctions anybody, know that the person has been set up by another group because at this time, there are lots of succession battles taking place in Yaounde. His era is coming to an end, so many people are flexing their muscles to take over. However, those who have openly demonstrated their ambition have ended up at the Yaounde Maximum Security Prison known as Kondengui,” the source said.

“This country needs change. Cameroon needs divine intervention. Everything is going down the drain. This government has set the country back by at least a century. Cameroonians are helpless. Poverty has emasculated them. Many have lost their voices. Besides, the intimidation from government officials and their surrogates has robbed the population of its voice and dignity. We all are really looking forward to the day that change will come,” he concluded.
