The Vice President of the Ambazonia Interim Government Dabney Yerima says the Federal Republic of Ambazonia will not back down on its right to an independent state and will continue its self defense policy and resistance in line with the right to sovereignty as defined by the founding fathers of the United Nations.

“The Federal Republic of Ambazonia will not back down on its sovereignty in the face of a French backed French Cameroun genocidal campaign and will continue to march on the basis of self defense” Dabney Yerima told Southern Cameroonians in the diaspora via zoom during a meeting on the situation in Bambili and the assassination of two top Amba self defense soldiers-Martyr General Joel Tanteh and Lt. General Fuonkeh.

Underlining the fact that the Federal Republic of Ambazonia will never join the list of failed states, Vice President Dabney Yerima said “What prevents Southern Cameroons Self Defense Forces from attacking La Republique du Cameroun is the Anglo Saxon way of thinking and principles, which prohibit the use of violence to massacre innocent citizens.”

Referring to massacre of thousands of innocent Southern Cameroonians in both the Northern and the Southern Zones as well as the recent indiscriminate killings in Bambili and Mautu, Dabney Yerima said, “Massacring civilians and innocent people is the way of French Cameroun political system, but the Federal Republic of Ambazonia does not believe in this method.”

Elsewhere in his comments, Vice President Yerima stated that those Southern Cameroons clowns in the French Cameroun crime syndicate in Yaoundé, who keep saying that we will not get to Buea must know that they and those bigger than them in La Republique du Cameroun cannot prevent the Ambazonian people from establishing their own nation.

Argentina’s public prosecutor’s office will convene a medical board on March 8 to decide whether or not late football legend Diego Maradona was given proper treatment before his death, legal sources said on Tuesday.

Maradona died of a heart attack on November 25, weeks after undergoing brain surgery on a blood clot.

Investigators are trying to determine whether or not there was negligence in Maradona’s health care before he died.

Nine experts will be called on March 8 including the medical examiners that took part in Maradona’s autopsy.

The public prosecutor in San Isidro, a suburb of the capital Buenos Aires, has also called two more witnesses to appear before investigators on Thursday: a nursing coordinator and the doctor tasked with coordinating Maradona’s home care during the days before he died.

Five other people, including neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque and psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, are already under investigation in the involuntary manslaughter probe.

The latest two people included in the investigation were members of a WhatsApp chat group discussing Maradona’s care, local media reported.

Two of Maradona’s daughters — Gianinna, 31, and Jana, 24 — will also appear before prosecutors on Thursday.

They have accused Luque of responsibility in Maradona’s deteriorating health.

A first autopsy conducted the day Maradona died found he had suffered from liquid on the lungs with acute heart failure brought on by a disease of the heart muscles that makes it harder to pump blood. His heart was twice the normal size.

Maradona is an idol to millions of Argentines after he inspired the South American country to only its second World Cup triumph in 1986.

An attacking midfielder who spent two years with Spanish giants Barcelona, he is also loved in Naples where he helped Napoli win the only two Serie A titles in the club’s history.

He was coach of Argentine top flight outfit Gimnasia y Esgrima when he died.

He had celebrated his 60th birthday on October 30 at the club but looked in poor physical health and seemed to have trouble speaking.

Sources close to Maradona said he suffered from depression during eight months of coronavirus restrictions that confined him to home as he was considered a high-risk person.

Maradona was suffering from liver, kidney and cardiovascular disorders when he died.

He had battled cocaine and alcohol addictions during his life.

Iran has stopped the voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Safeguards Agreement that allowed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to carry out short-notice inspections of the country’s nuclear facilities, following a deadline set by Tehran for the removal of US sanctions.

Talking to reporters, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif confirmed that the implementation of the Additional Protocol had been stopped as of Tuesday morning.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s permanent representative to Vienna-based international organizations, also announced late on Monday that all the IAEA’s additional access to the nuclear sites would be halted by midnight.

“As of 12:00 p.m. local time (2030 GMT), we have nothing called obligations beyond the Safeguards Agreement,” he said. “Necessary orders have been issued to nuclear facilities.”

Zarif pointed out that Iran will continue to implement its commitments under the NPT Safeguards Agreements and cooperate with the IAEA.

He explained that footage recorded by cameras at Iran’s nuclear sites will now be withheld and no longer shared with the IAEA on a daily and weekly basis as was done in the past.

The foreign minister also noted that Iran will have no official meeting with the US, since Washington is no longer a party to the nuclear deal.

The halt came under the Strategic Action Plan to Counter Sanctions, a law passed last December by the Iranian Parliament.

The legislation set February 23 as a deadline for the Iranian government to further scale back compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), if the US does not lift its sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

The withdrawal from the Protocol adds to Iran’s previous steps away from the JCPOA in response to the US’s unilateral withdrawal in 2018 and the other parties’ failure to fulfill their commitments.

Admin. welcomes Leader’s call for unity with Parliament

Additionally, the administration of President Hassan Rouhani on Monday welcomed a call by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for it and the Parliament to resolve their rifts and act in unison regarding the anti-sanctions law.

“Negotiations and agreements between the Islamic Republic and the IAEA have been in full compliance with the Constitution and the laws of the country, in particular the resolution of the 759th session of the Supreme National Security Council. All experts and security officials have acknowledged that they (the negotiations and agreements with the IAEA) were the most efficient and the least costly way to fully implement the Parliament’s resolution,” it said in a statement.

“The goal of the Islamic Republic and the definite plan of the government are to realize the rights of the Iranian people, intelligently and decisively confront the illegal actions and policies of the United States, and lift the cruel and inhumane sanctions against the Iranian nation as soon as possible,” it added.

During a visit by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to Tehran on Sunday, the UN nuclear watchdog struck a three-month deal with Iran.

The US Supreme Court on Monday allowed the release of Donald Trump’s tax records to criminal prosecutors, rejecting a last-ditch bid by the former president’s lawyers to keep them secret.

Trump, 74, has been waging a protracted legal battle to prevent his tax records from being handed over to New York prosecutors probing hush payments to women and possible fraud.

The nation’s highest court denied the request filed by lawyers for Trump without comment, paving the way for the documents to be handed over to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance.

The prosecutor, a Democrat, has been fighting for over a year to obtain eight years of Trump’s tax returns as part of an investigation into the ex-president’s finances.

Monday’s ruling concerns a subpoena that Vance had issued to Trump’s accountants Mazars USA in August 2019 ordering it to furnish documents stretching back to 2011.

“The work continues,” Vance said in a three-word statement issued after the ruling.

Vance’s probe was initially focused on payments made before the 2016 presidential election to two women who claim they had affairs with Trump, including porn star Stormy Daniels.

But the state-level investigation is also now examining possible allegations of tax evasion, and insurance and bank fraud.

Trump, who left the White House last month, called the investigation “a continuation of the greatest political witch hunt in the history of our country.”

“The Supreme Court never should have let this ‘fishing expedition’ happen, but they did,” he said in a statement following the ruling.

US presidents are not required by law to release details of their personal finances but every US leader since Richard Nixon has done so.

Trump repeatedly said he would release them pending an audit but ultimately broke with the tradition.

Vance’s investigators have interviewed Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, who received a three-year prison term after admitting making hush payments to the two women.

The ex-lawyer had testified to Congress that Trump and his company artificially inflated and devalued the worth of their assets to both obtain bank loans and reduce their taxes.   

Civil probe

If Trump were charged and convicted he could face a possible jail term. Unlike federal offenses, state crimes are not subject to presidential pardons.

Investigators also recently interviewed employees of Deutsche Bank, which has long backed the former president and the Trump Organization, US media reported.

They spoke to staff at Trump’s insurance broker Aon, too.

Vance’s investigation is taking place behind closed doors in front of a Grand Jury.

It is unclear if and when it will lead to a prosecution, which would be the first of a former US president.

In July, the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s argument that as a sitting president he was immune from prosecution.

Trump’s lawyers then challenged the scope of the requested documents, saying it was too broad.

Ahead of the November 3 election, The New York Times alleged that Trump had avoided paying federal taxes in 11 out of the 18 years for which it had obtained returns.

The newspaper also reported that Trump paid just $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017, a claim the former president denies.

New York state’s Attorney General Letitia James is also investigating allegations of bank fraud and insurance fraud through civil proceedings.

Trump’s legal troubles may not end there.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has said that as a civilian Trump “is liable for everything he did while he was in office.”

At his historic second impeachment trial, the US Senate acquitted Trump of inciting the crowd that stormed the US Capitol in January, but McConnell suggested Trump could face criminal and civil action over the riot.

In February, prosecutors in Georgia opened an investigation “into attempts to influence” the presidential election in the state.

Trump had pressured officials to overturn his loss in the key battleground.

Health cooperation within the framework of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the Southern Cameroons crisis were the two main subjects on the menu of the audience granted on Monday, February 22, 2021 by the French Cameroun dictator, Paul Biya, to Christophe Guilhou, the French Ambassador to La Republique du Cameroun.

The French Commissioner to Yaoundé is a regular at the so-called Unity Palace. He was back on Monday afternoon in Etoudi, seven months after his last meeting with the 88-years-old President Paul Biya.

“I gave Biya a letter from President Emmanuel Macron“, Mr. Christophe Guilhou told French Cameroun state radio and television and “We discussed a number of subjects. The death toll from Covid-19 in the US surpassed 500,000 on Monday with President Joe Biden set to memorialise the staggering number of lives lost despite a recent decline in coronavirus cases.

It has been nearly a year since the pandemic upended the country with dueling public health and economic crises.

“It’s nothing like we’ve ever been through in the last 102 years since the 1918 influenza pandemic … It really is a terrible situation that we’ve been through – and that we’re still going through,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, White House Covid-19 medical adviser and the nation’s top infectious disease official, told CNN’s “State of the Union” program on Sunday.

The White House said on Sunday it planned a memorial event in which Biden would deliver remarks.

A White House spokesman said the president along with first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff would hold a moment of silence on Monday and there would be a candle-lighting ceremony at sundown.

Biden last month observed America’s Covid-19 deaths on the eve of his inauguration with a sundown ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool.

Biden will use “his own voice and platform to take a moment to remember the people whose lives have been lost, the families who are still suffering … at what is still a very difficult moment in this country”, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday.

Still at ‘very high’ level

More than 28 million Covid-19 cases have rocked the United States and 497,862 have died, even as daily average deaths and hospitalisations have fallen to the lowest levels since before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The virus took a full year off the average life expectancy in the United States, the biggest decline since World War Two.

While the decline “is really terrific … we are still at a level that’s very high,” Fauci said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program. “We want to get that baseline really, really, really low before we start thinking that we’re out of the woods.”

Fauci told CNN that Americans may still need masks in 2022 even as other measures to stop the virus’ spread become increasingly relaxed and more vaccines are administered, and they may also need a booster shot depending on how variants emerge.

Less than 15% of the US population has received at least one vaccine dose, with nearly 43 million getting at least one shot and nearly 18 million getting a second shot, US statistics show.

More localities are easing some restrictions, such as on indoor dining, and moving to reopen schools even as millions await their shots, sparking debate over the safety of teachers, students and others.

Financial pressures also continue to weigh even as economists express optimism for the year ahead. Congress is weighing Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, with the House of Representatives expected to vote on it this week and the Senate seeking to pass it before March 14.

Prof Carlson Anyangwe has stressed that participation in the Dabney Yerima IG-led resistance is the best means of defeating the trend of betrayal of the Southern Cameroons cause, which has seen many Southern Cameroonians disappointed.

The Southern Cameroons veteran made the remarks on Sunday, addressing a Cameroon Concord News Group editorial forum hosted by our London Bureau Chief Isong Asu that focused on confronting the divisive trend that has rocked the Ambazonian struggle.

Professor Anyangwe stated that the solution is for every Southern Cameroonian to participate in the resistance and the self defense effort that the Dabney Yerima led Interim Government is leading against the Biya French Cameroun project.

“In implementing the Big Rubbergun Project, Southern Cameroonians should all support the IG to acquire all the instruments of fire power and armament at their highest level,” the renowned British Southern Cameroons academic noted.

Carlson Anyangwe also said not making available financial resources to the Dabney Yerima administration equals the abandonment of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia and also serves as the green light to the occupying French Cameroun regime.

The Vice President of the Southern Cameroons Interim Government Dabney Yerima held a press conference with Media2Africa aimed at expressing the faith of British Southern Cameroonians in the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.

The conference comes as the French Cameroun regime in Yaoundé is struggling to change the narrative of the Southern Cameroons quest for independence by pushing a vicious agenda that there world seems overwhelmed with the seeming infighting between different factions and particularly within the Southern Cameroons Interim Government with the disgraced Dr Sako Ikome claiming to be the President of one of the IG.

Vice President Dabney Yerima told Media2Africa that there is only one Southern Cameroons Interim Government with President Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe as the leader and that is the Ambazonia Interim Government he represents as Vice President.

“The abduction and incarceration of Sisiku Ayuk Tabe did not in any way invalidate his role as the leader and face of the revolution. Anyone fronting out here that he is the leader of the revolution is not credible,” Yerima added.

A sea of Southern Cameroons leaders, activists and journalists watched the interview live as the exiled Ambazonian leader stressed that no deal can bring peace to the two Cameroons without the United Nations involvement.

Responding to a question on whether Sisiku Ayuk Tabe is auto piloting the revolution from jail? Vice President Yerima wondered aloud “How could anyone even rule or govern from jail. The conspiracies were meant to discredit and undermine Sisiku Ayuk Tabe. The Interim government is run by the leadership out of detention.”

Vice President Dabney Yerima pointed out that African journalists and activists have a significant role in conveying the true image of the inhuman French Cameroun regime and its genocidal campaign in British Southern Cameroons.

This is a war that could have been clearly avoided if the Francophone dominated government in French Cameroun had used known instruments of conflict management and resolution. Genuine dialogue, a key thrust of conflict resolution, was clearly ignored and to deceive the people of Southern Cameroons and the international community, the despicable Yaoundé government organized a semblance of dialogue wherein it chose who had to participate in it, which issues had to be discussed and what resolutions and conclusions had to be reached by the participants; an idea which only caused the conflict to escalate by multiple notches.

The roasting of a baby in Batibo is no accident and let nobody be deceived by whatever the French Cameroun government would say.  The Yaoundé regime is in the business of winning an argument and it will stop at nothing to prove its point. As usual, it will order an investigation, the findings of which will remain a dead letter like most of the other investigations conducted over the last 39 years by a government that has been conducting itself like a crime syndicate made in the same mould as the Sicilian Mafia.

The Southern Cameroons Interim Government, IG, has reiterated that resistance to French Cameroun invasion and occupation is the only way to multiply and consolidate the gains made by restoration forces in the rural areas of the Ambazonia homeland.

The Southern Cameroons Secretary of the Economy Tabenyang Brado made the remarks during a meeting grouping Ambazonia finance experts charged with raising funds to support the Operation Big Rubbergun Project announced recently by Vice President Yerima.

Secretary Tabenyang Brado also highlighted two other ways to counter French Cameroun military and colonial officers in addition to more aggressive resistance.

Comrade Tabenyang said, the people of Southern Cameroons should and must be prepared to intensify ghost town operations directed by Vice President Dabney Yerima.

The Southern Cameroons official further said restoring unity among all Ambazonia groups remains the most important way to tackle French Cameroun genocide war in British Southern Cameroons. 

Tabenyang also noted that strengthening partnership with the AU, the EU and the Commonwealth along with the free people of the world, is other necessary step to chase French Cameroun out of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.

Lorry drivers returning to France from Britain will not now need to have a coronavirus test if they have spent less than 48 hours in the country, UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said on Sunday.

France demanded in December that lorry drivers travelling from Britain to France must carry a negative Covid test result to reduce the spread of a more infectious coronavirus variant that had been found in Kent in southeast England.

“I’ve agreed more flexibility in testing for hauliers travelling from the UK to France,” Shapps said on Twitter.

“From 11 p.m. (2300 GMT) tonight, lorries returning to France from UK having spent less than 48 hours in the UK will no longer require a coronavirus test.”
