Southern Cameroons Acting President Dr Samuel Ikome Sako is expected to address the Ambazonian nation on the happenings in neighboring French Cameroun and the first appearance of the Ambazonian leader Sisiku Ayuk Julius Tabe in a military tribunal in Yaoundé.   People in the know have hinted Cameroon Intelligence Report that Dr Sako will vow to use every resource available to defeat French Cameroun terrorism. The Ambazonian Acting President will also issue an ultimatum to French Cameroun ailing leader Paul Biya to release Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and his aides or face severe consequences.

Reliable information from the Ambazonian Interim Government that filtered to the Cameroon Concord News Group indicated that Dr. Sako’s words will be very blunt and the leader will make public an evaluation of the county-by-county self defense efforts of the Southern Cameroons restoration forces and he will urge Southern Cameroonians to be patient and strong.

“Acting President Sako will be speaking to two audiences: one domestic and the other foreign” noted our senior political man Soter Tarh Agbaw-Ebai.  In a firm voice, Dr Sako will address French Cameroun political leaders and Southern Cameroonians including West Cameroonians still serving in the Yaoundé regime.

The leader of the Ambazonian Interim Government will also call on the US government to deliver justice to French Cameroun political and military leaders over the killing of an American missionary in Southern Cameroons.  Millions of Southern Cameroonians have offered support to the struggle both at home and abroad but Acting President Sako was quoted as saying recently that “Ambazonians face a choice either you are with Biya and French Cameroun, or you are with the IG and the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.”

The Ambazonian Acting President has been talking to international opinion leaders recently including Prof PLO Lumumba.

Turkish prosecutor says Khashoggi strangled as soon as he entered Saudi consulate 0

Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul as part of a premeditated killing, and his body was dismembered before being disposed of, a top Turkish prosecutor said Wednesday.

A statement from chief Istanbul prosecutor Irfan Fidan’s office also said that discussions with Saudi chief prosecutor Saud al-Mojeb have yielded no “concrete results” despite “good-willed efforts” by Turkey to uncover the truth.

The statement is the first public confirmation by a Turkish official that Khashoggi was strangled and dismembered after he entered the Saudi Consulate on Oct. 2 to collect paperwork needed to marry his Turkish fiancee.

The announcement came as Saudi Arabia’s chief prosecutor, Saud al-Mojeb, ended a three-day visit to Istanbul during which he held talks with Fidan and other Turkish officials.

Turkey is seeking the extradition of 18 Saudi suspects detained in Saudi Arabia over the killing of Khashoggi. It is also pressing Saudi Arabia for information concerning Khashoggi’s remains, which still haven’t been found, as well as who ordered the journalist’s slaying. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also called on Riyadh to disclose the identity of an alleged local collaborator said to have been involved in disposing of Khashoggi’s body.

Khashoggi, a 59-year-old columnist for The Washington Post, vanished after entering the consulate in Istanbul to pick up paperwork for his upcoming marriage to his fiancee, who was waiting for him outside. A critic of the Saudi royal family, Khashoggi had been living in exile in the United States.

Turkey alleges a Saudi hit squad from Saudi Arabia – including a member of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s entourage during a trip to the United States – traveled to Istanbul to kill the journalist and then tried to cover it up.

Under mounting pressure, Saudi Arabia changed its narrative about Khashoggi’s killing several times, eventually admitting that Khashoggi died inside the consulate and only recently acknowledging that Turkish evidence shows his killing was premeditated.

Saudi Arabia has not commented on the prosecutor’s visit.

Cameroon officials on Tuesday released 16 opposition activists who had been detained at the weekend as they protested the re-election of longtime ruler Paul Biya in disputed October 7 polls, their party said.

“All 16 were freed. I am with some of them,” Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon deputy treasurer Joseph Okala Ebode told AFP.

They were arrested Sunday during an unauthorised march called to protest the vote, in which MRC candidate Maurice Kamto placed second with 14.23 percent of the ballots cast according to election officials.

Biya, who has ruled the West African country for 35 years, was credited with 71.28 percent, but the poll was marred by allegations of widespread fraud, low voter turnout, and violence.

Since then public demonstrations have been forbidden, press conferences disrupted and opposition militants briefly detained.

On Saturday, 50 other activists were detained following an MRC march in the morning, and released that evening.

Government minister Paul Atanga Nji has warned that “any attempts to disturb the public order will be met with the greatest firmness”.

Biya has ruled the country since 1982 with support from the army, government administrations and the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (RDPC) that he created in 1985.

Cameroon’s defense minister warned foreigners Wednesday to be take precautions in the country’s restive English-speaking regions after an American missionary was mortally wounded amid fighting between armed separatists and soldiers.

“If you must be there, immediately inform the military so we can assure your safety,” Defense Minister Joseph Beti Assomo said, adding that the northwest and southwest regions where separatists are fighting for an independent state were dangerous for people not from Cameroon.

Charles Trumann Wesco, a missionary from the U.S. state of Indiana, died Tuesday after he was shot in the head while sitting in his car. Wesco had been in the northwest region of Cameroon with his wife, Stephanie, and their eight children for nearly two weeks before he was killed.

Dave Halyman, the assistant pastor at a Baptist church in Warsaw, Indiana, where Stephanie Wesco’s father is the senior pastor, said Don Williams spoke with his daughter by phone after the shooting.

Relaying Williams’ account, Halyman said Charles and Stephanie Wesco were in a car being driven by another missionary to the town of Bamnui from the Bamenda suburb of Bambili, where the family was living. Charles Wesco was in the front seat, and two bullets went through the windshield and hit his head, Halyman said. No one else was hurt, he said.

The family raised financial support to work in Cameroon for two years and visited the country two years ago on a survey trip.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, who previously was governor of Indiana, called Wesco “a believer, loving father, and pillar of his Indiana community.”

“Charles lost his life while he and his family were sharing the gospel in Cameroon,” Pence said in a statement. “Karen and I will be praying for Charles’ wife Stephanie, their eight beautiful children, and all those whose lives had been touched by his work and witness. And we will pray that they take comfort in the sure knowledge that Charles heard those words ‘Well done good and faithful servant.’”

The U.S. Embassy in Cameroon has for some time warned Americans against traveling to the country’s restive regions, where violence has escalated and hundreds have been killed in the fighting between separatists and soldiers. Most foreign and local enterprises have left the areas.

State Department spokesman Robert Palladino said Wednesday that based on information from senior Cameroonian officials, “we believe the victim was caught in crossfire.”

Palladino noted that Wesco’s tragic death “occurred in the midst of the Anglophone crisis,” violence that began after the government clamped down on English-speaking teachers and lawyers protesting what they called their marginalization by Cameroon’s French-speaking majority.

“Both separatist fighters and government security forces have used violence against innocent civilians,” Palladino said. “We call on both sides to view the tragic death of this American citizen to put an immediate stop to violence and to allow unhindered access to humanitarian aid workers and health care providers.”

Regional Gov. Deben Tchoffo said Tuesday that Wesco was wounded as armed groups attempted to stop the reopening of the University of Bamenda and the military fought back. He said Wesco might have been caught in the crossfire.

The military killed at least four suspects in Wesco’s death and arrested many others, military spokesman Col. Didier Badjeck told The Associated Press on Tuesday. He did not specify if the people detained were military personnel or separatists.

Wesco was not the first foreigner to be killed in the regions. A Ghanaian pastor was found dead with bullet wounds in July near Buea, in Cameroon’s southwest region.

A Tunisian and his co-worker were killed in Cameroon’s southwest Manyu Division during a March mission that freed four other Tunisian engineers.

Foreign road construction engineers were kidnapped in April by armed gangs in the southwest for allegedly neglecting demands to stop building roads. When the military went in to free them, three engineers were rescued and two were killed.

Authorities said another 18 people, including 12 European tourists, were freed in April after armed separatists seized their vehicle while they were visiting a lake in the southwest.

Even with the stolen victory, Biya remains a loser 0

Biya is sick and unable to attend to governance. At 85 years, Biya is a spent force with nothing more to offer Cameroonians. After 36 years of failed leadership, that he gets another mandate is not an achievement worthy of any celebration. If anything, it is a Pyrrhic victory, devoid of honour and virtue. It certainly would have been preferable if Biya had not run because, the only plausible outcome was that Biya will actually emerge a loser; whether or not the elections were free and fair.

Having personalised the country for so long, Biya’s long stay in office has denied Cameroonians the experience of peaceful change of leadership and put the country at risk of disintegration, amid the escalating Anglophone insurgency.

Unless power changes hands, the outcome of any presidential election will always be like a Shakespearean tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. The drama of buffoonery and charlatanism has reached its climax. Cameroon must be brought back from the precipice.

Over the last 20 years, the monarch has become very dictatorial and he has successfully deleted any lines that existed between the executive, judiciary and legislative branches of the government. It should be recalled that Mr. Biya appoints all magistrates and judges in the country and has a huge influence on members of parliament and senators, 30% of whom are directly appointed by him, while 70% are elected in a counterfeit election whose results are usually known many months ahead of time. And this same influence could be seen during the just-ended presidential elections.

Right from the beginning, it was clear that beating the incumbent through the ballot box will be a Herculean task. The electoral code is beautifully written to ensure that the incumbent is maintained in power. Even the election organizing body, ELECAM, is replete with members of the ruling party and this makes it hard for real impartial elections to be held in a country like Cameroon that lacks basic, transparent and fair election rules.

From every indication, ELECAM is just another wing of the ruling CPDM (Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement), a party considered by many Cameroonians are a crime syndicate due to the type of people who are its members. This party’s membership comprises ex-convicts, hardened criminals, murderers, business-people evading taxes and embezzlers. It has been banned in Southern Cameroons by the Ambazonian Interim Government and designated as a terrorist organization.

ELECAM, by its very nature, cannot organize free and fair elections in Cameroon and this explains why there were many irregularities in this year’s presidential polls, a fact recognized by the American government which clearly indicated in its congratulatory message to the contested winner of the rigged poll.

It should be recalled that Cameroon has just held a presidential election whose results were known by almost everybody, as members of the election-organizing body are appointed by Mr. Biya and most of them are members of his ruling party. Similarly, members of the Constitutional Council were also appointed by Mr. Biya in January and all of them had been compromised. All of them are members of the ruling party, and many of their spouses hold positions in government.

The president of the Constitutional Council, Clement Atangana, a retired Supreme Court judge, who was struggling with life while on retirement, had clearly indicated that he was there to serve the president’s interest. His appointment was indeed a resuscitation for him as this could be seen in a video in which he was rejoicing after hearing the “good news”. Of course he knew from the beginning that one good turn deserved another and this was obvious during the Constitutional Council’s deliberations. A villa is currently being constructed for him.

Other members of the Constitutional Council who did not inspire hope were Florence Arrey, a long-time girlfriend of the country’s justice minister, Laurent Esso; Foumane Akame, a one-time minster under Mr. Biya whose wife is also a ruling party parliamentarian; Joseph-Marie Bipoum Woum who was also a minster under the current president; Paul Nchoji Nkwi also a former minister and Jean-Baptiste Baskouda who has also served under the same president.

Southern Cameroons: Headless corpse discovered in Moliwe Village 0

The beheaded body of a man has been discovered in the village of Moliwe on the outskirts of Limbe, Fako Division of the South West Region of Cameroon.

Passersby discovered the headless body of the man in the early hours of Monday, October 29, 2018, under unclear circumstances.

The man whose identities as at press Time emerged as Fonyuy Christopher was spotted dumped in a bush. How he died and the whereabouts of his head is what has left inhabitants of the village trapped in fear.

Narratives within the village sway in tandem with projection that the deceased might have been killed for ritual purposes since the head is nowhere to be found.

It is not known if the development is linked to the on-going crisis in the two English-speaking Regions of Cameroon. The situation becomes difficult to link with the crisis given that parts of the string of villages around Limbe have enjoyed some degree of calm since the crisis started.

Security officers who stormed the scene of the discovery same Monday have commenced probing into the gruesome act.

A desperate attempt by the Government of French Cameroun to cover up its responsibility for the targeted murder of an American missionary, has backfired miserably with French Cameroun confessing to the commission of other crimes. Charles Trummann Wesco was killed by a French Cameroun military sniper hit-man in the Bamenda neighbourhood of Bambili, on Tuesday, 30 October 2018.

Cameroon Concord News Group recalls that French Cameroun as a state party to the Geneva Conventions 1948 had a mandatory obligation under the treaty, in declaring the war against the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, to respect its treaty obligations and the laws and customs of war. There is unimpeachable evidence that French Cameroun has targeted civilians and civilian targets for attacks in the prosecution of the war and genocide against Ambazonia and persons found within the territory of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.  The targeted murder of Charles Trummann Wesco is one among a well coordinated campaign targeting America and American interests in French Cameroun, the Federal Republic of Ambazonia and the entire Gulf of Guinea.

Cameroon Concord News Group further recalls that when the Ambassador of the United States of America delivered his government’s position expressing concerns for the indiscriminate targeted of civilians and civilian targets by the soldiers of French Cameroun deployed to prosecute the genocide and exterminate the civilian population of Ambazonia, the government of French Cameroun organized and carried out an official campaign of incitement against Americans and US interests. This criminal campaign which was ongoing when this crime was committed was led by the Minister of External Relations of French Cameroun, Lejeunne Mbella Mbella,  the Minister Delegate in charge of Defense in the Presidency of the Republic of French Cameroun, Joseph Beti Assomo, the Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakary ( Josef Goebbels of French Cameroun genocidal campaign), Atanga Nji, the Al Capone criminal executioner of French Cameroun official slaughter of armless civilians, Gregoire Owona, the CRTV, Television ( Mille Colline) 4 and other satellite genocidal and hate crimes news outlets and networks,  the CPDM crime syndicate  and a plethora of genocide apologists on the pay of Paul Biya and French Cameroun. It comes as no surprise to Cameroon Concord News Group and keen observers, that the assassination of the American citizen, Charles Trummann Wesco occurred within the framework of the official policy of the government of French Cameroun defined and executed by soldiers deployed to prosecute a genocide of Ambazonia.

Pursuant to French Cameroun anti-American campaign, several American citizens were profiled, abducted and detained in French Cameroun’s military and paramilitary dungeons without complying with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963 article 36). Some US citizens or legal residents are feared to still being held in French Cameroun’s detention camps in furtherance of this official policy of French Cameroun. That an American cleric is targeted and killed by a French Cameroun sniper in the territory of Ambazonia where French Cameroun military have defined the enemy as civilians residing or found in the territory of Ambazonia comes as no surprise.  It is this policy of targeting civilians and civilian targets by French Cameroun terrorists which the American government through its ambassador publicly decried drawing retaliatory threats and incitement targeting US interests and citizens. Isa Tchiroma Bakary went as far as accusing the United States of supporting the self-defense forces of Ambazonia and that the United States caution against the targeting of civilian and civilian targets was a veiled attempt to procure the oil deposits and extensive natural resources within the territory of Ambazonia and the Gulf of Guinea. Cameroon Concord News Group is of the considered opinion that hateful rhetoric is not different from that espoused by Boko Haram and confederacy of crime profiteers operating from within the Centre of power in French Cameroun and Nigeria.  Issa Tchiroma is a key liaison operative within that expansive criminal network.

Cameroon Concord News Group invites the United States of America to take the opportunity of the sniper murder of its citizen and the official campaign of incitement against its citizens and interests in the Gulf of Guinea by French Cameroun to lead an international effort to intervene and conduct an independent investigation into all the crimes perpetrated by French Cameroun in Ambazonia.   Cameroon Concord News Group is concerned that French Cameroun has embarked on a criminal strategy to eradicate evidence pointing to its responsibility for the murder of Charles Trummann Wesco through the cold-blooded execution of the alleged Ambazonian militants it alleged committed the crimes.  The confessed extrajudicial execution of the alleged militants French Cameroun alleges committed the murder without allowing for thorough investigations and a fair judicial process unmistakably portray French Cameroun as a guilty criminal gang in a hurry to eradicate evidence of its criminal responsibility for the crimes, before the US officially decides to conduct its own independent investigation of the crime.  Cameroon Concord News Group recalls that the US through its State Department periodic country human rights reports and through its diplomatic mission in French Cameroon has decried extrajudicial executions in French Cameroon and called for the respect of French Cameroun’s international human rights treaty obligations.

The confessed execution of four individuals alleged to have committed the murder of Charles Trummann Wesco is a cover up through the commission of further murders, by execution. The confessed execution of these individuals without due process is an aggravation of the crime requiring urgent American and international attention.

Cameroon Concord News Group calls on the United States of America and the International Community, including the International Criminal Court to urgently open investigations into the crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by French Cameroun and conjointly with Nigeria through the abductions and disappearances of hundreds and thousands of Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia civilians in the territory of Nigeria among whom are the President of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia His Excellency Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and members of the interim government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.

Nigeria: Death toll from attack on Islamic Movement supporters rises to 42 0

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) says 42 of its members have been killed by Nigerian security forces during protests in the capital Abuja over the past two days.

IMN supporters have taken to the streets over the past two days to demand the government release their imprisoned leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky.

The number of fatalities caused by Nigerian fire previously stood at 25.

Nigerian army troops opened fire at protesters on the outskirts of Abuja on Monday. The police shot at marchers in the city center on Tuesday.

“The death toll of yesterday’s attack on our members has risen to seven as of now,” IMN spokesman Ibrahim Musa said Wednesday.

“They died as a result of the injuries they sustained yesterday. And the number of those killed on Monday at Maraba (an area on Abuja’s outskirts) has also risen to 35,” he added.

Nigeria’s crackdown on IMN followers began in December 2015, when the army attacked a religious ceremony in the city of Zaria in northern Nigeria. Nigerian forces later raided Zakzaky’s house and arrested him after killing those attempting to protect the prominent Muslim cleric.

A Federal High Court had ordered Zakzaky’s unconditional release in 2016, but the Nigerian government has so far refused to abide by the ruling.

A spokesman for the movement stated back in March that the government in Abuja was planning to indefinitely hold the cleric and his wife in custody.

Yaounde’s targeted killings: Here’s what you need to know about Charles Trumann Wesco 0

Charles Trumann Wesco was an American missionary who arrived in the West African nation of Cameroon on October 18, along with his wife and their eight children. They were stationed in Cameroon’s troubled north-western region, near the town of Bamenda. On October 30, local media reported that Wesco had died of bullet wounds to the head. The US State Department confirmed that a US citizen had died in Bamenda, Cameroon, although they did not use Wesco’s name, in an effort to protect his privacy.

Missionary groups, as well as local media in Cameroon and in Indiana, reported that Wesco was taken to a hospital in Bamenda, Cameroon on Tuesday, October 30 and died on the same day.

1. He Was on His Way to a Market When a Bullet Shattered His Car Window, Striking Him in the Head

Wesco had just arrived in northwestern Cameroon and was still in the process of settling in. On October 30, another missionary — Ben David Sinclair — drove Wesco and his wife Stephanie to the market in Bamenda so that they could load up on provisions. But along the way, a bullet shattered the car window, striking Charles Wesco in the head.

He was rushed to the hospital in Bamenda, but he did not survive.

2. It’s Not Yet Clear Who Shot Wesco, but His Death Comes Amid a Government Crackdown in the Restive Anglophone Region

There is no evidence to suggest that Wesco himself, a newcomer to Cameroon, was targeted for assassination. Wesco was shot near the city of Bamenda, in northwestern Cameroon, which has been plagued by violence and unrest due to conflicts between the national government and local groups. Northwestern Cameroon is one of the English-speaking regions in the country (most of Cameroon uses French as the official language). In recent months, Anglophone areas in the country have been demanding better access to schools and public services. Many have been calling for self-rule or a form of federalism.

Amnesty International reports that government security forces have burnt down villages in separatist areas and have “indiscriminately killed, arrested and tortured” dozens of people during military operations, displacing thousands of civilians. Amnesty also charges that armed separatists have attacked and sometimes brutally tortured and killed hundreds of soldiers amid the government crackdown on the area.

3. Wesco Was a Baptist Missionary from Mishawaka, Indiana

Wesco and his wife started planning their mission to Cameroon years ago. By 2016, the couple was well on their way to raising the funds they needed to leave their home in Indiana and travel to Cameroon.

By May of 2018, the Wescos had sold their home in Mishawaka and we getting ready to head to Cameroon.

Charles wrote that he had felt a calling to do missionary work since at least the age of 15. In 2014, he said,he decided that he wanted to go on a mission to somewhere in Africa. And by 2015, he narrowed his focus to Cameroon. He wrote, “During our survey trip in the Spring of 2015, the Lord deepened our love and burden for the people of Cameroon, who are so needy and so open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!”

4. Wesco Had Extensive Training in Sacred Music & Said Music Helped Him in Missionary Work

Wesco’s grandfather owned a piano factory, which is where the young Charles Wesco first learned about music. He said that by age 12, he was learning the trade of piano tuning (he was taught by an old blind piano tuner employed by the factory). He’s continued to work as a piano tuner over the years and has used those skills to help support his family.

Wesco said that as a young man he also got “extensive training” in sacred music and learned to play several instruments beside the piano. He wrote that music was a valuable tool when doing missionary work.

5. Wesco’s Brother, Timothy, is a State Representative in Indiana

Timothy Wesco, Charles’s younger brother, is a Republican politician representing the 21st district of Indiana in the state House of Representatives.

Asked by local reporters about his brother’s death, Timothy said, “He loved the Lord. He loved people. The Lord giveth. The Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

French Cameroon opposition continues protest against Biya win 0

The opposition Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) party Monday pressed on with the agitation against President Paul Biya’s re-election, against a crackdown by the government.

After losing the October 7 presidential election, CRM candidate Maurice Kamto announced a “national resistance programme” –a weeklong protest to challenge the victory and vowed to sabotage President Biya’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for early November.

Prof Kamto has refused to accept the poll outcome, insisting he won the vote whose official result show he emerged far second with 14.23 percent. President Biya was declared the winner with 71.28 percent vote.

CRM has called on Cameroonians to wear white T-shirts and trousers as a protest, a day before President Biya’s swearing-in ceremony.

The diaspora

They have also scheduled protest rallies in front of administrative offices nationwide and embassies in the diaspora on the day of the swearing-in.

Police on Sunday arrested scores of opposition supporters in the capital Yaoundé as they demonstrated against what they termed an electoral hold-up in the country.

CRM spokesman Olivier Bibou Nissack said “several peaceful” protesters were arrested on the precinct of Our Lady of Victories Cathedral in the centre of Yaoundé.

Many others had been arrested in the economic capital Douala, but later released on Saturday.

Public order

Territorial Administration minister Paul Atanga Nji said on Friday that Prof Kamto’s self-proclaimed victory declaration was “illegal and anti-constitutional”.

The minister said the electoral process was over and public manifestations have to respect the prescriptions of the law as the government “will not tolerate any disorder”.

“All attempts to disrupt public order will be handled with all firmness,” Mr Nji said.

“All those who will attempt to violate the laws of the republic will answer before the law courts and be rigorously treated by the same laws.”
