Amba fighters will give shocking response to Yaoundé offensives

Amba fighters will give shocking response to Yaoundé offensives 0

The Vice President of the Southern Cameroons Interim Government (IG) says Ambazonia Self Defense Groups will soon deliver a shocking response to the ongoing French Cameroun military operations in Manyu and Ndian County as they constitute a flagrant violation of Southern Cameroons sovereignty.

Dabney Yerima told the Southern Cameroons war cabinet late on Sunday that Amba fighters will give a crushing response to Yaoundé within the next few weeks in Manyu, Ndian and Lebialem.

Yerima said the IG can no longer stand idly by in the face of attacks and violations carried out against the people of Southern Cameroons in Mamfe, Mundemba and Fontem.

Dabney Yerima went on to say that most Francophone military commanders deployed to Southern Cameroons by the Biya regime have created fake armed groups and are using them to terrorize the local population.

The Southern Cameroons exiled leader highlighted the nasty role currently being played by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church and sounded a note of caution to Southern Cameroons clerics to continue to be prophetic voices of the suffering people.

Southern Cameroons Crisis: There is a price to be paid for the fanciful delusions of Mr. Biya and his Beti Ewondo kinsmen

Southern Cameroons Crisis: There is a price to be paid for the fanciful delusions of Mr. Biya and his Beti Ewondo kinsmen 0

The two Cameroons are undergoing the greatest struggle in the name of freedom since the rigged 1961 reunification.

Southern Cameroonians are fighting to take back their country-the Federal Republic of Ambazonia while French Camerounians are fighting for their freedom.

Many are now convinced and confident that, at the end of the day, Southern Cameroons independence and Southern Cameroons sovereignty will prevail and will be there long after the 89 year-old Paul Biya has left the scene.

The reality is that the people of Southern Cameroons have survived five years of French Cameroun military onslaught and they are well on their way to outlasting the Biya administration that criminals like Atanga Nji and Joseph Dion Ngute serve.

There have been continued calls from the embattled President Biya to stop the military operations in Southern Cameroons and hold genuine negotiations with the jailed Ambazonian leaders.

While acknowledging that the Francophone dominated armed forces were suffering painful losses on the front lines in Southern Cameroons, President Biya and criminal gang believe that Cameroon government troops would be able to hold on in their fight against Ambazonia fighters, and eventually stifle the resistance.

People in the know including many political commentators have come to assess that the war in Southern Cameroons has tilted in Ambazonia’s favour, Biya and his Francophone Beti Ewondo officials believe that the opposite is in fact true — that the so-called one and indivisible Cameroon is emerging from the current struggle with an advantage brought on by the provision of Made in France weapons and the deliberate silence of the West.

The problem facing the Francophone leaders in Yaoundé is the harsh reality of military math. Amba fighters are destroying vast majority of Yaoundé’s pre-conflict arsenal. This fact is played out with violence daily — in a conflict that has taken on the characteristic of a massive artillery duel with Amba fighters using the hit-and-run tactics.

The hard truth is that even Paul Atanga Nji is now fed up with the Biya Francophone pattern of governance.  Francophone military officials and some Roman Catholic clerics are now admitting high casualty rates.  Correspondingly, there is no way Biya’s offer of more money to the military will reverse the inevitable tide of Cameroon government’s looming strategic military defeat in Southern Cameroons. The emergence of Boko Haram in the Far North makes Biya’s offer to the army very hollow.

We of the Cameroon Concord News Group believe that when the so-called Biya military operation will be over and Biya gone for good, the one and indivisible Cameroon would no longer exist as a nation.

There is a price to be paid for the fanciful delusions of Mr. Biya and his Beti Ewondo kinsmen, and those in Yaoundé like Fru Ndi who believe them, and that price may be the very existence of the United Republic of Cameroon as a country.

Ronaldo-Manchester United Crisis: Player misses training

Ronaldo-Manchester United Crisis: Player misses training 0

Cristiano Ronaldo missed training with Manchester United on Monday due to “family reasons”, just days after the Portugal star reportedly told the club he wants to leave.

United players who had been away on international duty over the close-season were scheduled to meet up with the rest of the squad on Monday.

But, according to British media reports, Ronaldo did not attend, with his reason for failing to appear at United’s training ground accepted by the club.

However, the 37-year-old’s absence will be interpreted as the latest salvo in his bid to engineer a move away from Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is said to be disappointed by United’s decline since he returned to the club from Juventus last year.

United failed to qualify for this coming season’s Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

Despite the arrival of new manager Erik ten Hag from Ajax, Ronaldo reportedly does not believe United can challenge for major honours in the near future.

In the twilight of his career, Ronaldo would prefer to join a club capable of satisfying his desire to compete for the game’s top prizes.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, who has a year left on his United contract, has played 19 consecutive seasons in the Champions League and is the tournament’s all-time leading scorer.

The former Real Madrid star’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly sounded out Bayern Munich and Chelsea about a potential move, yet United are said to be adamant Ronaldo is not for sale.

Ronaldo was United’s top scorer with 24 goals last term, but his campaign was marred by public shows of frustration on several occasions as the team struggled under first Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Ronaldo’s absence from training comes as United are due to leave for their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia on Friday.

Fecafoot terminates deal with Le Coq Sportif

Fecafoot terminates deal with Le Coq Sportif 0

The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) announced it has terminated its contract with French sportswear manufacturer Le Coq Sportif. In a June 24 statement, Blaise Djounang, the acting Secretary-General of Fecafoot, said the decision will take effect right after the 2022 Women AfCON. That is July 23, 2022.

He did not explain the reasons behind the decision but the statement hints at non-compliance with commitments by the equipment manufacturer. “The president of Fecafoot plans to explore new collaboration opportunities with an equipment manufacturer that respects its commitments and is proud to join its image with the label of the national football teams of Cameroon,” the statement reads.

The new Fecafoot-Le Coq Sportif deal was signed on June 7, 2019, in Montpellier and was expected to last until 2023. But the collaboration has stalled since the signing and the Minister of Sports, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, asked for explanations from Fecafoot in October 2019.  Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said he noted a real deficit in the quantity of equipment and sports kits made available to the national teams during some major international sports competitions.

IMF, CPDM Crime Syndicate reach staff agreement that could save up to $73.6 million 0

The International Monetary Fund announced on Wednesday that its staff had come to an agreement with Cameroon regarding the second review of its loan programmes. If the Executive Board of the Fund approves, the agreement could result in the disbursement of $73.6 million.

According to the Fund, Cameroon’s economic outlook is still favourable, with growth of 3.8% predicted for 2022, but uncertainties are growing as a result of high rises in the cost of food, fertiliser, and oil due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Explosion at Mokolo market in Yaoundé:  There has been no claim of responsibility 0

An explosion occurred at Mokolo market in Yaounde the afternoon of July 2. Initial reports indicate the blast, caused by an improvised explosive device, has resulted in an unknown number of injuries.

Authorities have almost certainly deployed to the area, and may close nearby streets following the incident. There has been no claim of responsibility.

Heightened security and localized traffic disruptions are likely in the affected area through at least July 2 as police conduct their investigation.

Secessionist violence continues to undermine the security environment in Cameroon. Related attacks are regularly reported in the Northwest and Southwest regions, with incidents also occurring occasionally in Yaounde.

Poverty Culture: Father of Marc-Vivien Foé, accuses the late footballer’s wife of killing his son 0

The dad of late Marc-Vivien Foé was the guest on the TV program “Décryptage” on Friday, July 1, 2022 aired on Vision4 to mark the 19th anniversary of the death of his son, who died on June 26, 2003 at the Gerland stadium in Lyon during the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup against Colombia.

19 years later, the late footballer’s dad, Martin Amougou Foe is still refusing the scientific thesis made public by FIFA medics on the passing of his son and continues to blame the late Foe’s wife, Marie-Louie Foe, of having killed his son.

Speaking on Vision4, Papa Amougou said his son was “poisoned” by his wife through a meal on the eve of the match against Colombia.

“Marc told me that after the game he will divorce her. I swear, God is my witness (…) At midnight, his wife brought him food at the hotel (…) It wasn’t Marc who could be killed like that. When Marc ate he started to vomit and had diarrhea, so we went to call the doctor, who worked all night to treat Marc“, revealed Marc-Vivien’s dad during the TV conversation.

He also did accuse his former daughter-in-law of infidelity towards his son.

Football: Mo Salah signs long-term contract extension with Liverpool FC

Football: Mo Salah signs long-term contract extension with Liverpool FC 0

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah on Friday signed a long-term contract extension, putting an end to a lengthy saga about his future at the Premier League club.

The Egypt international has signed an extension until 2025, with the deal coming after strike partner and Senegal forward Sadio Mane left to join German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on a three-year deal last month.

“I feel great and (I am) excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone,” Salah said in a statement on the club website.

“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.

“I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going (upwards). Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.”

Salah scored 23 league goals for Liverpool last season to share the Premier League golden boot with Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min.

He was named the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year and also took the top honour from the Football Writers’ Association.

The 30-year-old scored 31 goals in all competitions for Liverpool and helped them capture the League Cup and FA Cup. They were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final in May.

Salah, who joined the Merseyside outfit from Italian side AS Roma in 2017 and has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances, would have been available to leave them on a free transfer at the end of next season.

He is now expected to lead a new-look front line for Juergen Klopp’s side in the absence of Mane and Divock Origi — who left the club — with Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez having joined in the close season.

“My message (to the fans) is the players in the team want to give our best next season to try to win all the trophies,” Salah added. “As usual, you stay behind us and give us a big push and I’m sure we are going to win trophies again (together).”
